“Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting
The Soul that rises with us, our life’s Star
Hath elsewhere its setting and cometh from afar.
Not in entire forgetfulness,
And not in utter entire nakedness,
But trailing Clouds of Glory do we come,
From God who is our home:

The concept of ‘calling’ is as old as time and appears in stories, myths and legends from around the world. The first book ever written: The Epic of Gilgamesh, inscribed on clay tablets approximately 5,000 years ago, recounts the legend of the young warrior King Gilgamesh, bored with his present existence, going out into the wilderness to seek a deeper meaning and purpose to his life. The adventures he encounters are classic examples of the Hero’s Journey, a journey we will all be challenged to face at various stages in our lives. As Joseph Campbell was fond of saying: “The question is, Will we say yes or no to that challenge? Will we say yes or no to the adventure of life itself?”
